They eat fruit and more important, veg. Raw or cooked. Plus of course seeds but no peanuts or sunflower seeds.

 

I have a feeling the peanuts and sunflowers make them fat

 

Hi Nigel,
the parrots are just fine here in Pets Corner. I think it's always better if they can have a companion - like themselves. Do they have shrieking sessions where they know they are winding you up with the racket?

Sorry, I meant that I had combined the parrot photos in with the photos of Frankie and wondered if I would have been better making 2 separate posts but its ok I think.

They shriek when it starts to get light and again at dawn but otherwise they are not too bad. I kind of block the noise out.

 

You are right, Peanuts can contain a fungus as they are not really a nut, they grow underground and can contain a fungus and sunflower seeds as you say do have too much fat to be healthy for the birds.

 

Lovely birds Nigel, they look real characters and mischief makers, as most of the parrot family are.
