This one is fascinating for me, it's a decidous Azalea that was in flower when I went to Ness Botanical Garden in January. The photo looks 3-Dimensional if you look at it in a certain way..

I will give it ago, but at the moment, I haven't taken many, I only have around 25 photos, but the summer will be much better, when all the wildlife and flowers are out.

 

These photos are brilliant and some of the best i have seen on here.

The Nikon cameras are the best in my opinion and Mr Kandy would love one but at the moment the price for the camera and a really good big lens is a bit out of our reach.I often look on wild bird blogs and some of the photos taken with these cameras plus the big lens are cracking,but as the owners have told us when we have met them in the field is that the equipment is far too heavy to lug around

Kandy thank you I appreciate that.. I'd be lying if I said every picture is prime cut.. Ive deleted a fair few photos along the way that didn't step up to the mark. I think that's what most photographers end up doing (according to a youtube vid I watched). Depending on how much you are willing to spend you can get a kit with a standard lens for under 500, obviously it's a fair bit of money, but I've seen some good offers around.

 

Yes, I know that one you think, cor thats quite a shot, then it's a big disappointment when you get home.. often though I find a simple crop can sort out those borderline photos.. perhaps there's too much in the photo, maybe it's aligned wrong etc etc.. a cropping is sometimes my best friend.. 'specially in wildlife shots

I see many photographers are caught between favouring and abhorring digital photography.. many think the artistry has gone out of it now it has become digital.. well I can't comment without having used a film SLR first, but I havent so I can't really say. It's definitely opened photography up to new people..

Actually I'll start a topic on it, if that's ok, it would be interesting to know people's opinions..

 

Today is an excellent day for photography because the air quality and visibility are excellent. Pure crisp air from the Arctic. I'm going to make this a photograph day... Watch out for a photo of Phoenix canariensis palm later!

It was a challenging say with wind gusts of 60mph and sustained winds approaching 50mph, very difficult to stand still!
