Its been awhile since I`ve posted a grand day out.
We had a grand day out yesterday and headed for Osmotherly moor via Helmsley

Helmsley, on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Moors on the River Rye, is an attractive and popular market town and a good stop when visiting the area's attractions. It's also the start of the Cleveland Way so gets popular with walkers.
Helmsley still has the market, held on Friday's in the main square, with its statue of Lord Feversham. The current Fevershams live in the Vanbrugh built mansion, Duncombe Park, on the edge of the village, near the 12th century ruined castle.
The church is worth a visit as it has a letter written by David Livingston when he was in Africa.

21 0th Oct 2010.
Really nice start to the day so picnic was prepared and we headed out to Scarhouse and Angram reservoirs in North Yorkshire.
An absolutely perfect day for pictures.
Clear as crystal, cool with a bit af a chill.
First picture is a typical scenery view on the way
[IMG]
Arriving on site and after a picnic we head for the Scarhouse dam to find ice on the puddles and frost in the shadows with a temp of only 3C

We found interesting display showing the history and construction of the two dams
Nearing the dam face for a stroll across to the other side.
Onto the dam and legs working well!
Loverly fresh moor water.
View down the valley from centre of dam
[IMG]
Such a perfect day for photography I just had to do a panarama
[IMG]
One the way home we passed another reservior that seems to be running rather low at this time.
[IMG]Hope you enjoyed joining me on our stroll. Next time please remember to bring a warmer coat with you!
