A Joke Or Two 2023/24

Must say I prefer the 60s ...

 

Ouch ouch, wearing those heels to go to the supermarket, that restricting belt to show off your waist whilst pulling the bin out and the time, products and effort to get the hair done for the school run...

No thanks. Jeans and sensible shoes for everyday tasks for me please.

The other end is just as bad, 10 years ago the Baby's school actually asked parents not to wear pyjamas when dropping kids to school so I guess many people do take it to that extreme too.

A fact that puzzles me as a foreigner is shoes. A friend popped in wearing flip flops, wading through the snow. It was perfectly OK for her, after all she'll only be walking out for about 15 mins.

On one memorable occasion, I spotted young Bradley (perhaps 6 years old at the time) in the corner shop in his stockinged feet, selecting sweets. I was just about to gently advise young Bradley on the benefits of wearing shoes, when her mother appeared from around the isle, also wearing socks but no shoes.

Personally I advocate for sensible footwear and leave the heels for occasions where I don't have to walk more than 10 meters.

 

Heard the other day something really sad. The company that makes yard sticks are not going to make them any longer. Have to buy up a bunch.

 

I had the slowest, rudest and nastiest cashier at the supermarket today. I'm done using the self checkout.
