I was chatting with another allotmenteer the other day on my way out, and he was saying what everyone on here has said "I set myself little tasks which are easy to accomplish, but when you stand back and look, it doesn't look like you've touched it", I suggested that he took pictures, as it is only then that you can see what you have done.

It's getting there slowly, but there is so much still to do.

Finally, all 4 Pumpkin seeds have germinated, though I will probably only use the biggest and most advanced plant (which I planted in pure 5 year old rotted manure  ).

I have so much to plant, and hardly any area prepared for it.

            Time to buy some Mypex?

Got any plans for making paths (both permanent and temporary)?

I was planning on having the one permanent path down the centre of the plot, with obviously temp. walkways between rows etc, the plan next year is to rotovate the areas I have painstakingly dug over this year, though, the hard work has been done this year, so hopefully it will be simpler in future years to come.

Went over with the boy today and spent about an hour just planting his peas + some runners and then watering everything thoroughly.

Going to put some onions and radish in there as well for him, small amounts of different things to get a spark of interest for him.

Well ....... Been a while since an update

In the time since last posting (and as also said), I have had to get my Sweetcorn, Courgette, Butternut Squash in the ground, which was done on 20th May :-

I also 'needed' to get my Strawberry plants out, but to do that, I needed to finish my suspended planter, by somehow blocking the ends, I eventually came up with an idea of using a hole saw of near enough size and cutting circular discs out of deck board, this was done on the 22nd May :-

And this is them yesterday, all planted up :-

Went over again over the weekend and did a few little bits, mainly watering and a little bit of weeding.

                  Here's the boy watering :-

                  After a drenching :-

I got a little bit of digging done, but it was really a little bit as you can see in the last picture, the earth is a darker colour on the Left where I had dug a little bit over.

                  Pictures as of today :-

                  Runner Beans

Jacks Patch, which includes Runner beans, Peas (which he was given seed from the school which came from Birds Eye), some Red and White Onions (my leftovers) , 2 unknown Tomato plants in front of the raised bed and 3x Gardeners Delight to the fron Left just inside.

To the Right of the Raised bed, I have planted some Elongated Red Cabbage (forgot the variety and is, I believe, Greek in origin), to the Left of the bed is the Plain Red Cabbage.

4 San Marzano Tomato Plants, next to the tatties

Might be camera ... but Sweetcorn looks a bit yellow? If so might need some kick-start Nitrogen?

Would Chicken Poo Pellets provide the Nitrogen required? - Just asking as I have some
sweetcorn planted and whilst they dont look a bit yellow, I was thinking of feeding them
now they have been in the ground about 10 days (about 50 plants)

You're right, it is a little yellow, all because it got left in pots longer than it should have, now it is in the ground, the new growth is growing out a proper Green, and each plant was planted on some 5 year old manure, so it will all look okay soon.
