We've had success with peas and sweetcorn.

    Three for two in M&S.

We gave up with spuds after two unsuccessful years, using huge containers.

After religiously picking my French beans every day for the past 17 days, I now have ...... sufficient for two small portions! And, not only that, those 'Teeny Beanie' I asked about on here weeks ago? Remember, the ones that were 5' tall and still going? They stopped growing - eventually and have been sat there, taking up valuable space ever since. My neighbour proudly shows me his gleanings - of my beans there is still no sign.

Hmmmm!! I thought I'd done pretty badly with my spuds, grew them in two bags,
5 to a bag and the final crop was 5.5lbs, so maybe it wasn't so bad after all, they taste pretty good to. lol!!.

Maybe I shouldn't say I have just picked 3 kilo of tatties from some 'volunteers' that I left as I hadn't time to plant anything 'real' in the space this year.

    Digressing slightly...

Not wishing to rub it in, but this is just an example the quality of my Braburn apple crop, which will soon be ready.

Well done on your three apples DR!

My turn to be smug as we have a lovely apple tree currently heaving with fruit. Its going to be chutney-rama in few weeks.

Capney- I had you down for at least a lieutenant in my Dead Arm Crew. The whole idea needs a re-think now.

My turn to be smug now. I bet I've got more dandelions growing in my lawn (or at least where it should be) than anyone else - so there! :hehe:

PS - I've got weed treatment, it says to use it when the grass is 'damp' - it 'aint bin damp for nigh on 8 weeks.

Well last year I planted potatoes in plant pots and got loads which surprised me - this year I grew them in potato sacks and got about 5! All that effort for a few spuds...

I had loads of dandelions too, now drinking a lovely cup of dandelion coffee. Made 2 trays full.

Dug up another potato plant (planted at the same time as the disastrous plant). And was pleasantly surprised!

Please note my big toe size carrots. Im terribly proud.
