It will be interesting to see if the parents are charged as is being reported in the press, we`ve still got a couple of people going around on mini bikes but the police don`t bother, again, something will be done when somebody is injured or killed. Pete, kids playing with toy guns 15 or 20 years ago would have been perfectly safe but now with our gun crazy police I think there will be some frightening stories in the news in future.

Changing tack more onto the gun thing, I dont think a five year old with a toy gun is a problem.
By the time they reach 10 or 12, they stop playing with toy guns and move on.
The gun problem stems from kids not knowing reality from fantasy.
And I think the blame lies firmly at the door of the computer game, and violent films.

Running around with a toy gun at seven is not going to make you a murderer, a computer game played at sixteen might.

What is frightening is the number of knife attacks by, and on, youngsters.

Knives are still easier to get hold of than guns.

Also, some of our newly invited guests have brought their knife carrying culture with them, along with the guns, that is.

It was on five live, the report was a bit "sketchy" Also, another baby killed by a dog. The sixteen year old babysitter tried to save him but couldn`t. The child was thirteen months old and was carried outside by a seven year old to see the dog, a Rottweiler.

We have a bunch of people out there that can no longer be trusted for their own actions.
Dont know how we got there but we did, it dont say much for MODERN society.

Putting aside the one notable incident here earlier this year ... a parental problem in my opinion ... there don't seem to be these problems here. I can only speak for Algarve and not up North ... Lisbon and Oporto etc.

There is a list of dogs that have to be registered and licensed here and a vet won't see them if they are not. Actually, cats are supposed to be registered also ??? Vets are relatively cheap in comparison to the UK.

Cops carry guns here but there are few incidents.

There are many, many, many reasons why I don't live there any more ... weather is only a small part of it. [IMG]

I know, pete, and I do sympathise.

"They" all go there because "they" can get what we can't ... hence another reason me being here.

We paid more than enough tax in our time there, up to 40% for many years, and we couldn't even have a dentist! F*** that noise! I had to have a Portuguese/German dentist (only 30 and gorgeous by the way) repair the damage done by the English dentists ... privately at £40 per tooth which included white enamel filling replacements.

Sorry, David, don't think you're a dentist and I do have all my own teeth so don't want them demolished. [IMG]

PS Not sure about your finishing products also.
