A Rose for to day

Good morning Angelina thank you,I am a little late this morning as I could,nt wake up as I was dreaming of Roses most of the night:WINK1:its a beautiful Rose.

I agree with you, Woo. There are a lot of specialist rose growers who grow and sell David Austin Roses under licence. Plus there is the advantage of coming across a rose that isn't one of David Austin's but is beautiful enough to change your mind about your original choice, and there are plenty of those out there!!:D

Three for the price of one

 

Here's a rose that can confuse new rose lovers and gardeners as it's a rose that changes colour over time from pink and yellow to a deep red...............,Masquerade. This particular climber has been in my garden for 30 years and is still going strong. It cost me 50p as a dry root from a Superstore:

Thanks Woo, for that excellent photo of Masquerade I'll have to search in my computer pic library to see if I've got a decent picture of the Masquerade. I didn't start taking pictures in the garden until after 2001 and to be quite honest Masquerade has been one of the unsung heroes which I only took a few pics of. I'll look anyway.

I don't think you'll need to wait nearly half a century, Angelina, for your climbing roses to get to a level where they'll be covered in flowers...........two to three years if they're in the right place and you feed them regularly once a week.:yess::

This one is Kings Ransom, another rose I bought 30 years ago as a bare root for 50p. It's not the best of pics and doesn't does the rose justice as during the summer twilight the yellow stands out in the border like a beacon.
