Thats very encouraging news Dave  Using the phone again so quickly and the light at the end of the tunnel. Does he understand the progression that will be going on ? Oh, he does, sorry, missed that bit.

So very glad to hear that your step dad is making progress, being able to use the phone again in such a short time is amazing well done him!!!! hopefully he will carry on making progress and each time he does it will make your life easier too. Felt really sorry for the chap who had to be restrained to get him back to his room but perhaps they had no option? many of these hospitals are really understaffed and are coping the best they can in the circumstances.
Keep us updated with his progress won't you?!

It seems I posted about his good progress prematurely. Just after I posted that my mam rang, in a bit of a panic. She'd been asked to come to the hospital immediately, and as she doesn't drive she'd called me. I did the British stiff upper lip thing and went to collect my mam, and raced to the hospital, knowing that calls along the lines of 'get here now' are usually the worst possible type of calls.

It seems he's had three massive seizures within a couple of hours, and is now unconscious. I think its safe to say that the panic wasn't quite as bad as we'd assumed. We were told he'd had another brain scan and nothing new was seen, and that seizures can be an aftermath of a stroke. They couldn't tell us much as they still have to do lots of tests and observations but they hinted that it doesn't necessarily mean its game over, just that its very likely that he'll have to have yet another chemical added to his long list of medications in order to control the seizures.

Clueless, if you have problems with the staff, insist on having their names and tell them afterwards that it`s so you know who to sue, besides the trust.:dbgrtmb:
