Hi everyone from my local radio station to day,its a clear sky here:)

Star-gazers are being urged to stay up late and enjoy one of the best displays of the Geminid meteor showers for some years on the night of 14 December 2010.

Lovely clear sky last night so I went out for 15 mins just after midnight but standing in 3 inches of snow with the temperature just below zero was too much and I gave up.

I'll be emailing the British Astronomical Society to suggest that next year they arrange to put on the shower earlier in the evening and on a warm night.:D

Just had another look, still total mist, no good down here. Mrs doesn't appreciate the full majesty of the cosmos then ?

Get her some binoculars & show her the Gallilean Moons of jupiter, 3 visible at the moment.:thumb:
