800 known migrants entered the country illegally on Saturday and were taken toDover.
I never hear how many are sent back.
Now I'm not saying these people might not have good reason to leave wherever they come from, but, at this rate we will never house everyone one if this mass exodus goes on.

Britain is known worldwide as a nasty racist country or so some who live here will tell us.
Why do they all want to come here.

So we have left for good, the Ambassador has flown home so does that mean we just abandon our embassy or are some staff left behind? I suppose that would be unsafe. Easy pickings for the Taliban.

The Americans have left behind billions of dollars worth of equipment including helicopters and planes, plus some 70,000 military vehicles, enough for one each of the Taliban army. It's a sorry tale.

So who will the Americans be fighting next?

The war machine and the Senators need to keep feeding off the tax payers money.

Looks like Taiwan dispute next. Not a full out war just a multibillion dollar skirmish. Of course we will jump in too.

Well, presumably the yanks left the military equipment for the use of the Afghanistan army that never was.
For ages now they had been saying that British troops were out there training the army, presumably the Americans were also.

I still struggle to see how they can say we just dumped them and got out.
The final withdrawal may have been fast, but that could well have been because of what was actually happening in the country prior to the withdrawal.

It was a case of get out quick or start fighting the Taliban again, as the Afghans certainly didn't seem to be.

We'll be back. It's a region we can't keep our noses out of
The US is more and more isolationist so there's a decent amount of caution and worry about traditional support, partnerships and understanding. They don't have the appetite they used to, to be the world police or to jump and commit to long engagement.
There's a lot of changes coming to the world

Slightly tongue in cheek - how about teaching the migrant to become lorry drivers as they say we're 100,000 drivers short?

Just wondering what the covid situation is in Afghanistan, only it appears, listening to the news that its non existent.
My guess is not many there have been jabbed.
Don't see anyone wearing a mask.

But there is no mention of it, which just seem to put the whole covid thing into perspective for me.

British soldier's Afghan pet rescue put British evacuation efforts on defence
A former Royal Marine secured the help of British forces to fly out 200 rescue animals on a plane chartered for the purpose

(Bloomberg) — As the operation to airlift out Afghans desperate to flee Taliban rule enters its waning hours, a row has erupted over the evacuation of hundreds of cats and dogs by a former British serviceman.
Amid the scenes of chaos at Kabul airport, Pen Farthing, a former member of the U.K.’s Royal Marines, managed to secure the help of British forces for his plan to fly out 200 rescue animals on a plane chartered for the purpose. The animals may get out, but the Afghan staff of his Nowzad charity group will be left behind.

I was under the impression he didn't get out.
Thought they stopped his flight, but bearing in mind all he needed was a take off slot as he had chartered his own plane I cant see why they couldn't fit him in.

As to the staff, well they are Afghans, at least some of them will have to stay, it is their country afterall.
