I agree that Farmer Gracy are good and now I think about it that may be where my Sea Breeze came from last year. But they don't seem to have any deep blue ones at the moment.

I did see it there, but it is bare root, which I tend to avoid. I'm not sure it would flower this yr. I might wait till July and trawl a few GCs. If I buy one in flower, I'm pretty certain it will do so again in subsequent years. I bought a small, leaf-only one at a garden show some yrs back, and it never grew bigger or flowered, hence my caution!

@ViewAhead I have just realized that I should have mentioned that I did keep Sea Breeze under cover through winter. It wasn't heated just in a rather holey pop up cloche that I was using to protect some of my Alpines. It has been out of there for a month or so and I had forgotten - sorry!

No worries, @katecat58. I have an overhanging porch that keeps rain off my current agapanthus through the winter. If it got below 5 degrees, I could pop a Sea Breeze in the garage, as I do with pelargoniums and osteospermums. The climate is pretty maritime down here. Even lobelia often survive in the ground over winter. :)

          Hi

I have found the 9cm pots just too small you wait for years to get a decent plant with more than 1 flower, aim for 2/3 litre pots as minimum size I know more ££ but your buying time

I have used Gardening express for agapanthus and found all I have bought have been great quality and value and if you keep a eye on them they sell some varieties at half price on a regular basis

@Spruce I tried complaining to gardening express last year but emails were ignored and I couldn't find a phone number. Gave up in the end.
