    I have just been to the Harrogate Flower Show today and looked at the Agapanthas stand. I didn't even bother to ask the stand holder as when I looked at the items he had for sale they were quite clearly rhizomes rather than bulbs. But what I noticed is that everything he had for sale had green shoots coming out of it. It struck me that this was the way to buy them.

    Lorna - I suspect that Agapanthus are pretty variable. Certainly the colour and the hardiness varies. That could explain why a new plant doesn't do as well as an old plant, buy doesn't explain why your divided plant has done so badly.

    Just as an aside, what varieties of Agapanthus would people recommend. I'd like to grow them but not sure which ones to grow.:scratch:
