Yours is healthy looking, Babe. I haven't done anything with the one left yet. It was smaller than the others but I think I'll still put it up the top of the lane .... our of harm's way.

The neighbour at the end of the lane behind me has a variegated one on either side of their gates and severely cut them back this year. My cousin's wife took an offshoot from it two years ago and appaarently it is quite large now on her sunny patio in Bedfordshire.

Because it dont look like it.
Its too green and the spines are too close and not dark enough.

I haven't come upon those pics yet, Sis, as I am working from the beginning and not jumping around looking through them all. But I'll post them up as soon as I find them.

Just for you pete, here is the base of THE plant in question ...

I went picking up more babies (bulbils) last Thursday off the ground and the owner came out and said did I want a carrier bag full as he'd knock a head off the stalk ...

Presume its the long pole with only a dead base.

just guessing but surely thats Americana Marginata and attenuata, is that the two that you are referring to.

NO ... I was talking about A americana and A americana variegata .... A attenuata is another one with large 'soft' leaves .... the Swan's Neck or Dragon Tree which I put up earlier this year ....

    Will re-post later this week.
