Pete. Here are a couple of photos the first one one of a Macrozamia with new frond and the second is germinated but no frond yet, by the side of a spin again with no frond.

As you can see the burra is very 'red-orange' and a unique shape compared with other cycads.

Oh, and the pink teddy? That is Ed's, not mine, honest. [IMG]

Dee. Ed is very gentle with it. He just carries it around in his mouth. He would make some Teddy a wonderful mother.

The seed certainly looks like a burrawang Pete. Large and orangey. I doubt if I would send the wrong one, particularly with these because they are so different. I think it is very difficult to tell from early fronds (except say Cycas revoluta and Dioon edule which are very different even when seedlings).

The heating will be OK I put Mrs Sarra in the greenhouse with instructions to turn it on if the temperature drops below 5. :D

Not a lot of help Pete.

On your first picture the one on the left is lighter coloured than the one on the right. I suggest that the one on the right is a burra and the left is a spin. The burra is also fairly 'delicate' and 'dainty' but it is too early to tell from either yours or mine. That's when they get bigger. But I'll give you odds that I sent amacrozamia to you. It's the same as mine which are definitely the gen. item.

Not really relevant but I got a C. guizhouensis in frond (my first). It has a lot sparser leaf arrangement than most cycads and I thought at least one of you might like to see it.

Ok John, either way I have some interesting plants.

I still have one that you sent me, the queen sago was it, that has still to get a frond.

C Guizhouensis, is a new one on me, it looks interesting, should get an idea of what it will look like in another 5 or 6 years, perhaps. :D

The couple of Queen Sagos I have are not throwing yet either. They were obtained from the States a lot later than the others so should be OK. I got 6 seeds and only 3 germinated. Unusual for me with cycads.

Pete. If you want another Macrozamia to be sure, I still have a few. Just re-PM your address. I never keep addresses when they are done with.

Thats Ok John, I happy with what I have, its just me liking to pin things down all the time.
The queen sago is rooting fine, I can see a good white root through the drainage holes, I guess it will be just a matter of time. [IMG]
