I havn't started mine yet - I have collected all sorts of wierd stuff on my travells and so has my friend for me from Tasmania, but weather has been so cold and wet that I have resisted starting anything- well at least it has given me time to have a look in at GC!

My bruggies have over wintered well - the orange one was fantastic last autumn.

As to the Battle ship - well of course the four of us would have it sorted with our right hands tied behind our backs.

LoL and Waco, since the seed has germinated I'm pretty sure I was wrong, its NOT a bauhinia.
Have got another guess, but I'm not saying until it gets a bit bigger. :D

    Thank you joyce42.

Evening pete. I planted five and five are up about 3cm tall so it will be interesting to know what they are.

I've been taking photographs in the rain today up at the dams and I may have a tree, no two, that need identifying. Since it's the mountains, I'll probably put them in Country Life ... keep the beach piccies for Algarve Daze. [IMG]

    Just catching up here, Sis.

I love the ones of the old wooden ship, and the seagull with the open wings is fantastic, well caught! The four on the roof is good too. I think the boxes in the following picture are the making of new little beach huts.

Looks like you had a nice day out today. For some odd reason, I like the fourth picture today best, even if I am now completely off palms.

I know you guys are all having wonderful sunshine so you don't need mine ... and I won't show it to you. :D

What I will do is show you some pretty things from today and introduce you to my new friend, Rolph.

We went for Sunday lunch (omelettes and salad for both) at the Alte Hotel, 20 minutes from us up in the hills. We have become friends with the owners and we have been told we can have a swim in the pool before/after we have lunch if we like ... and have drinks served to us there ... not a bad deal, me'thinks. :thumb:

This was the view from our table today ... the sea is at the horizon ... we live somewhere in between ....

... and these are the gardens on the other side of the hotel ...

On the way home, we stopped at our favourite place for a beer and a glass of wine ... and they do wonderful food as well ... O Forol Restaurant which is only 7-8 minutes from our house .....

.... and I met a new friend, Rolph the Turtle, who I fell in love with and obviously he with me ....

... and he tried to follow me back to the table ... so I sent him packing back to the water ....

    .... and here's Donald ....

Apparently Rolph loves people, especially when they calll him (he's only been there three weeks) but I just kept going kissy, kissy (beijinhos) and he came at a fast pace of knots .... they said apparently he liked the sound of my voice ... sweet ...

Sorry, seemed to have lost a bit of text on the pics in the transfer....

Its a hard life but I suppose someone has to do it.:D

not sure I would feel safe, if I was a turtle at a restaurant, or a duck for that matter.

    Nice pics though.:)

Thanks roders, pete and pip. :)

Went back there today .... and guess who came to visit me .....

..... along with two ... not one but two .... gorgeous 20-something year olds (Portuguese) who tried to pick me up whilst I was talking to my little water baby ..... must need their eyes tested ....

The owner has threatened turtle soup and duck with rice on the menu so I have forewarned t'other half he may have to quickly construct a pond for me ..... :D
