    they dont like a soggy bottom , roots will rot .

        speaking of Cucumbers - Ive got a grafted plant this year - F1 mini stars - it appears to be female only, & hugely vigorus:

        Mind you - it doesnt seem to have got the hang of growing up things, Im having to tie it to the cane.

        one of my two is the same, it does not seem to have the ability to hold on to anything, the other one on the other hand, which after inspection is a different cuce, will hold onto the netting, with a bit of persuasion, but also has male flowers on it too now, the leaves are also quite different and smaller.
