    Thanks again Spruce, will do that. Though, the rats around here are pretty bold and will quite happily scale the birdfeeders dotted round the garden, have a feed and then make their way over the hedge to the field next door.

    I had that once, and hung the bird feeders on the washing line :snork: and it was a rotary

          Whenever we have a pizza takeaway we always throw the uneaten free garlic bread in the back garden for the birds but always wondered what was eating it so quickly by the morning.

                  They can have. I remember taking an injured one to a local hedgie rescue place when I was a kid, that had fleas :( but they said they'd sort it's flea problem

                    No harm to anyone then? I was always told not to pick them up because of the fleas.
