Allium bulb already coming - normal?

    You can plant them now but tulips are best planted in November and prefer sitting on a couple of centimetres of sand, I plant my allium with sand also it just help prevent rot. With expensive bulbs like giant alliums / crown imperial fritillaria they get a handful of sand on top aswell. If your garden already free draining or sandy forget the last couple of sentences :)

    Super, thank you for advice. Have to get sand now. "Clay, naturally wet" - that's what I've got. I mix peat based substrate in and make all beds bit raised.
    (trying to resist not buying this season doble snowdrops, white muscari and yellow fritillaria :) as I've already have many bulbs)
