If you look like him you should patent your anti wrinkle cream and make a mint.
Welcome by the way.It is one of the best sites for instant advice that I have found.

Hi weyms & Paladin! Thanks for the welcome!
Broadway, eh, Paladin? I used to be John Noott's assistant - he of the art galleries! Hope your brother's house-hunt goes well! Ours was a bit traumatic (chuffin' farmers!!)but we're well settled and love it now. Soil here drives us daft, though - as my earlier post reveals!!!

Vielen Dank Kedi-Gato! Leider habe ich Deutschland nur zweimal besuchen - aber ich habe es sehr schon gefunden! ('Scuse the missing umlaut!) But "gato" is Spanish innit? Like, "cat"? Errrr.... I'm confused! How come?

I love cats and that is where I took my GC name from, also my avatar. Kedi is Turkish for cat and Gato is Spanish and Portuguese for cat. I thought that the two words put together sounded very nice, as did my kid sister (Lofl). My avatar is my cat and his name is Gato - how original, eh? Gato is Portuguese, an orphan we brought back with us in 1992. Gato is actually a female but since we had always had males up till then, and the twins were still with us, we just kept to saying "he". Oh, to my signature, Lofl found it for me, isn't it great?

Where did you visit in Germany? We live up north, about a half an hour from Bremen.

Hi K-G - Ah, now I understand! We have cats too. Nearly in double figures, in fact, and mostly with rather daft names, but our little half-Siamese was almost pure cream-colour when we got her, so we called her "Sahne" - 'cos it sounded nice, we thought! (My son & his wife, who are German specialists, thought it was a bit prosaic. You can't win!) [IMG] The signature is well impressive! Looks a bit like our big lad - name of "Obelix" after the Asterix character. I've met many smaller dogs....!

My first trip was from Bonn down the Rhine to Koblenz, then turned right and went up the Moselle through Cochem and Trier, stopping off or a "Weinfest" in Uerzig. We camped (appropriately) in Zeltingen! [IMG] I LOVE Moselle wines, so I loved learning about "Spaetlese", "Trockenbeerenauslese" and the rest...We want to replant vines here - our predecessors ripped them out. Just for our own consumption, of course.

Second trip was to Husum, right in the north. As a treat we were taken to the "Gruene Strand" - the wind reminded me of home! I was born on the east coast of the UK, and our nearest seaside was at Skegness. If you stood in the dunes you got shot-blasted! That's why they called it "bracing"!! :D (I come from Boston, which is in Holland, which is in England.... Work that one out!)
