Well went to hyson green today (ethnic part of Nottingham) and there green grocers have some weird and wonderful veg I've never seen before.
Picked up half a dozen eddoes for a couple of quid

What to do with them now, having read conflicting advice I'm unsure.
Some say leave them leave in a dry place and they will sprout
Some say bag method in airing cupboard.
    Which methods did you use?

I put mine in the airing cupboard using the bag method which worked at first, sprouting in a couple of weeks but they were soon covered in fungus as I think they were too hot.
      Joolz's method is probably better.

One advantage of the baggie method is that you can see any mould or rot, and adjust the amount of moisture. If rot does occur, in a small spot, you could probably cut it out without affecting the tuber as a whole.

If its in a pot, by the time you discover rot it will be too late. But the best thing to do is to spread your bets as you have done Mowgley.

I have steeped them in Hydrogen Peroxide in the past, then rinsed, and then into bags until they sprout. They fizz nicely in the H2O2 :) so I presume it is doing something - including killing the bulbs if left soaking too long :(
