A few days later both sets of flowers were completely and absolutely demolished during the night by, I presume, a snail. I searched for him (to give him a good ticking off. :) ) but he (or she or it) had skedaddled. Next year I'm going to have to make up a frame of copper tape and ringfence them.

The bar stewards went through the entire flower stem of an Ismene festalis that had just emerged. I'm surprised that they could skidaddle after that feast but they had :wallbanging:

They're very good. Keep the Echeveria bone dry.

What's the white flower in the bottom left of the trough, @kindredspirit ? It's stunning.

The nurseryman didn't know ! ! ! ! but I think it's a form of Gypsophila but which particular one I can't say. It flowers almost non-stop and I have it growing in 50% Limestone Grit.

What's this one bottom right please, it looks like something I picked of a reservoir wall while in drought.

Sedum Oreganum (from Oregon in America, I think). Prefers it a little dampish more than dry. Rapid spreader but not a nuisance. Pull off a piece, stick it in the soil and Hey! Presto! you'll have a new plant in no time at all. :)

Are the leafy flower stems in the first photo Echeveria?
