sal73, I bought mine from an agricultural co-op near me. They're large circular cattle troughs used by big farmers. If you can find the nearest farmers' supply, agricy store, they should have them in stock. The farmers use them above ground but they're strong enough to be sunk down to ground level. They have to be strong to take the weight of water and being buffeted by cattle. They come in various sizes up to ginormous.

My back pond was built with concrete and survived the two bad winters where the temperature went down to -14 degrees centigrade. It had ice 11 inches thick for a month! The concrete is 4" thick and has glass fibres added and waterproofing agent. All these were added to the Ready Mix lorry before it set off for us. I've used no G4 or other paint bcause I couldn't afford it but there's no leaks yet. (Famous last words.) The back pond is 90' long by a max of 30' wide.

For your pond, the superstrong, cattle water trough would be the cheapest and the best. It has an inbuilt ball cock as well.

Thank you Kindredspirit , that is a good tip and a good solution , ps seen some picture of your frozen pond in a different place, they are stunning pictures and work you done.
Croncrete would be a good solution , but as my garden is really tiny will not even have the space to mix and so on , the large circular cattle it`s a perfect solution .

As usual I'm probably too late to offer an idea (not that I ever have that many)...

At my last house I had a koi pond... I used a Butyl liner and the grass edging hid it well:

Yep, I also used Butyl to line the pond I dug out over 29 years ago and, like Kazzie's, you can't see the edges. It's easy to use and lay and I haven't had any leaks despite some atrocious Winters in all those years.:coffee:

I have said it before but I've got to say it again......lovely garden, Kindred Spirit!!

I keep on looking at the pictures of kindredspirit garden and I have to say that among all the gardens I saw in the forum so far, this one is definitely one at the first places ... just so tastefully put together!
