    Not all coffee beans are created equal. Its like a good wine. the bean is affected by the soil, the plant and the weather, and then how its roasted, when its picked etc. Good coffee beans treated well does give a good black coffee to savor slowly without anything in it. finding the one you like is an individual challenge.

      The coffee was fine @redstar, it was the sweetner that I couldn't stand

        It's also affected by other things, such as poop! :hate-shocked:

        There are some very expensive coffees such as Kopi Luwak where the bean has been through the digestive tract of the palm civet - or Jacu where it has gone a similar way through the tract of the Jacu bird.
