            Another thought:
How do they let you know they're on their way? Trying to phone me won't do much good. Our lines tend to be busy a lot of the time we're in. Otherwise we are either out or working in the garden. If we're in, then the delivery people usually knock on the door, or ring the bell. That would get our attention. What does a drone do?

I suppose, if we're not in, it can always drop it in the bin or over the fence :heehee:.

Carrying one parcel at a time it will waste a lot of time if people aren't in.

Reading the info on the BBC site, it's pretty obvious that they haven't thought it through. They are projecting 30 minutes between ordering and delivery. Are they really going to have 'all the colours, in all the sizes' in depots within 30 minutes of everyone? :nonofinger:

So, lets assume they will only do it in major conurbations. Having lots of drones zipping about London with four airports, and lots of helicopters flying around, sounds an interesting proposition. If they fly low, which they'll have to do in order to be delivering at street level, I can see it becoming one of the local sports - 'shoot down the drone'! Maybe I should buy some shares in a slingshot manufacturer :ideaIPB:. Of course, it should improve the fitness of the local kids as they chase after the drones and it should improve their hand-eye co-ordination with the stone throwing or slingshot use. Maybe we could encourage the Olympics to include slingshotting.

How many towns would be big enough, with enough Amazon business, to warrant a depot?

            I won't hold my breath! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
