@Victoria, your Hibiscus are beautiful! I've only ever had one plant which my mum bought for me when she came over, with my youngest brother & his family, to visit us one year in May. It was a lovely red & I was very happy with it! As this was at least 30 years ago I don't remember what happened to it. As we lived in a 5th floor flat it was never planted in soil. It probably died but I don't remember.

Which reminds me, I had always told my family that the best time to visit us was probably in May as the worst of the winter cold has gone & the heat of the summer is still a month or so away. Would you believe it? The day after they arrived we had snow!!! I told my brother to look out the window the next morning as it had snowed - he thought I was joking!!! He got a shock when he saw it had snowed! :snow:

It's all very pretty, it must be a colourful time of year for you.
The Jatropha podracia looks an interesting plant.

Thank you Lori and Karen. Hibiscus are stunning and have unique colourings. Sadly Karen, they are too beautiful to have a scent as well!

Balc, we have never had snow here in the 38 years I have been coming here nor 21 living here. In saying that, Foia in the Monchique mountains (the highest point in Algarve) has seen a smattering on the rare occasion.

Yes, Michael, it would be your sort of plant.

Gosh, I better get December in here before the year ends.

The Brugmansia is filling out nicely and the Poinsettia can be seen starting to colour up in the background ...

A surprise here, I got some Oxalis triangularis corms from Bulgaria in August which started off slowly as I have them planted out in front of the house where we sit. But today ...

Jatropha podracia really looking good this year in The Courtyard. I can't believe it is one of my seed successes with that stunning caudex living happily in full sun next to a bamboo ...

That is a rogue Freesia that keeps appearing as I had them in that pot a couple of years ago.

My other caudex plants I am collecting on the South facing ledge in The Baffa, Adenium obessum, with two baby Plumeria seedllings mingling ...

They are corms. Only inside in the UK but can go out in the Summer. They are called Oxalis triangularis.
