The trellis is up on one section of The Baffa/Garden Room and the Hibbertia scandens actually has some long shoots left ...

Tomorrow's job is me doing something with the Geraniums/Pelargoniums which have sadly been neglected,

We have chosen this cladding for the wall underneath the windows ...

Thank you Upsy. Here is a tour around The Courtyard ...

There is still work to be done with the Trellis near the orchard Baffa side but that has to wait till after the Orchard side windows are installed.

The brackets are for the a/c unit to sit on which will be boxed in with trellis.

The wooden "plant stand" is a chair I had in the house. They are called scissor chairs and are uniquely hand made in Monchique in the mountains near us. We have another next to the fireplace with a back. The backless ones fold up.

Yes, Reginald and Eunice like their new home.

That big tree against the kitchen is a black olive tree (in 25 years here the olives have never turned green) and the little sods fall into our chimney and onto the cooker!

              Down Memory Lane

I was reminiscing about the garden when we bought the cottage in 1997 and how things are now. Excuse the quality as I was quickly photographing photos rather than scanning.

Oh Vicky what a lovely record of how your home has evolved over the years. It's great to sit and look back over the years, and it can often be mind blowing to see just what work was required. When you're young you just take it in your stride and get on...even without running water and a toilet!!:heehee: It's only in later years that you realise what a mammoth undertaking you took on.

I might start a before and after thread if I can find any pics, perhaps you could contribute to it.
We could travel down Memory Lane together!!

You should do that Upsy. I have a photo album for each renovation we have done .. but now it is good to have it on the computer. You could be My Haven in Hampshire.

                    This is from the weekend...

My new Brugmansia which I started in February opened its first bloom. It is disappointing as it was supposed to be a Bright Salmon colour as I already had Pink ...

But there are two more buds so we shall see ...

Hibiscus 'Columbine' under the Brugmansia 'Charles Grimaldi' in the ground ...

Wow that’s a definite transformation, you’ve got a lot more land than I thought, lots of lovely plants, it was just rubble before, how’s the building coming on, have you got windows now ? :spinning:

@Flumpy Yes, the yellow Tecomaria is also called Ginger Thomas and it has a lovely Light ginger scent. Bougainvilla has no scent. Brugmansia is scented depending on which one. This one on the Dining Patio is headily scented, almost overpowering ...
                                Brug3 27 Dec 21.jpg

By the way, we haven't heard anything about the windows. If you look at the first photo with the trellis, you can see through the room and see the open wall to the orange orchard. It is very frustrating as we can't put the furniture back!
