Actually, I was thinking of repotting it into the large pot to the right (and maybe give the Oleander away) in the Autumn. And now with this mishap perhaps that is a good idea ... but how big will he grow then!

I'd be digging a hole somewhere if it was mine but I know that's not always possible.

We don't have a road, just a one-track dirt lane to us and three/four other properties ... Lane.jpg
... and on the rare occasion it rains ...

I'm sorry to learn about Cy's fall @Victoria and hope he'll get over the shock  Let us know what you decide to do about the repotting.

I'm worried that the same may happen to the Fuchsia standard I've been training for nearly a year. It's out on the balcony & is now flowering. The trouble is the branches haven't really hardened to wood yet so if it gets knocked over during the very strong winds we are forecast during the whole day on Saturday it would ruin the plant.

As it is one branch was torn off a few weeks ago when I put the clothes airer on the balcony & a piece of clothing became entangled in one of the branches! It's totally ruined the form of the plant!

So as to be sure I will move the Fuchsia away from the balcony railings where it is at present & further inside the balcony so I can give it a little extra protection. The street where we live is also known for being very windy, as people have commented to me over the years (I also know that from my own experience during the last 22 years!)
                  .

Thank you Upsy. We do have to water daily. Last month's water bill came today ... 13 Euros but that includes rubbish collection and meter rental so we don't complain.

Lovely to see your plants @Victoria,
is that orange flower Kalanchoe blossfeldiana ? (not the Hibiscus, the other one) That's a lovely bloom. It's one of the few succulents I've never had any success with.
