An Algarve Garden -2023/24

To close out July, I thought I would do a few different shots coming into the property.

First buds on Vallotta speciosa, Scarborough Lily (Cyrtanthus Elatus) which I planted in January 2019 ...

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, which continuously blooms ...

Beautiful colours Victoria,..plus a contented Van ,..i can imagine the scent in your garden it must be awesome.

 

Your garden is beautiful @Victoria and always interesting to see ... and Van is handsome.
I thought I'd commented and clicked like for these photos several days ago becaise I have definitely seen them. My mind is playing tricks on me

 

Thank you Philip. Actually,it is not so scented. Oleander and Tecoma are both lightly scented but you have to stick your nose into the blooms.

Great plants as usual Vicky.
It must take an age to water everything in the non stop heat………all those pots! ☀️

 

Thanks roders xx About 30 minutes in three sessions (J's job). I just do my little table top Nursery out front every morning. However, we have automatic watering on the raised patio out front which comes on for 20 minutes at 10pm every day on hot days, and can turn on automatic watering on the border at the bottom of the garden as and when.

This heatwave is tiring for sure.

 

@Victoria ,..love those night images,..very relaxing,..the lights here and there make interesting viewing

 

Thanks Philip. J loves his lights. The ones in the French drain on the Front Patio that the Hibiscus pots sit on have been there for years and he just last month got them working again!

We here The Algarve is on fire.

 

Thanks roders for thinking of me. xx We are nowhere near the big fire on the West Coast, we are Central. They have it under control at the moment. Look at my Weather post earlier today and click on my location to see where I am. We are currently 28c with a cool breeze listening to good music.

 

I forgot we are in August already, so Night Moves actually started the month.

So these were my 1st of August blooms ...
Front of House Patio, the only place for colour in the heat ...

Where we sit out front facing East and the Iochroma/Plumbago. We call it The Sandbar as the Sand Garden for the cats is between the Iochroma/Plumbago and The Jacaranda, Viburnum/Tecomaria and Tecoma stans.
