Looks like you've been busy @Victoria! Have you had your bamboos a while? I grow a few varieties in my garden, they are regarded with suspicion over here but I love them!

Probably 15 & 18 years, one coming from a GC member in England. My husband did all the cutbacks ... and he does not ;like gardening.

Do you find the Lotus flowers right through the year, or just kind of spring/early summer, I've tried that yellow variety and it always stopped flowering by mid summer.
I used to have a dark red one that was more bush like, rather than trailing, and flowered longer

Actually, this is our first year with it as i lost the other two in past year,s 2013 and 2020, thinking it had died so tossed it. Having read up on it, I got this one in April last year and trimmed it back in the "Winter" ... and look at it now. We'll see how long it blooms. I have never seen a red one but sounds nice and would like one.

My Protea just has the one stem so guess it will bush out? I got this from Madeira Exotics in July past. Never got the previous one I got from them going.

The Protea should start to branch out from behind the old flower head once its finished.

This was the kind of thing I meant, but I'm sure the one I had wasn't quite so spawling and more upright.
Maybe my memory is playing tricks.

Thank you Valleysgirl and welcome to GC. Yes, along with a lot of blood, sweat and tears but I am very proud of it.

I am a Valley Girl too, from Pontypridd. Enjoy your visit in Australia and have a safe journey home.

Just having our morning cuppa here in beautiful Australia at our daughters house where she lives now . Sadly our visit ends next Sunday flying home then back in our house at Abersychan by the evening. As you are a Valley girl as well and from Pontypridd just to let you know for my birthday treat we saw Tom Jones in concert last Wednesday in 'Kingspark' Perth , Amazing Amazing voice still at 83 and in an amazing setting everyone sat in the grass. Will sit down when I get home and set about how to post pics of the fabulous Flora we've taken on our travels around Western Australia

An exciting day yesterday when Ben the Gardener arrived to do Spring cutbacks and tidying, and ended up taking the Viburnum down to less than two meters from about five plus due to suspected disease. and a massive section had died. The Myoporum also died so Ben will come back in May to remove it.

Here is it last year ...
