Mira. The okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is very closely related to these and the abelmoschus maniholt is also supposed to be edible. But having tried okra as a side dish with Indian food I dread to think what they would taste like. No worse than slimy okra I should imagine. [IMG] :D

Everything looks so bright and cheery down your way, Sis, and the poinsetta is a real show.

Your lixo lamps are great. It would be nice if you got the lights for them from Santa!

Lol, your white/pink cyclamen looks similar to a variety called 'VICTORIA' with a long lasting but more ruffled flower. I haven't grown it for years but the name just came to mind. Just thought you would like to know. ;) [IMG]

Thank you Babe, Cutie, Sis and walnut. [IMG]

strongy, you have made my day if that is true! [IMG] Like BM's Nan, I love Cyclamen too as they bloom for months and months and months here and are so beautiful and graceful. I've bought one each year for Christmas for the past four years ... there's a purple in the middle of the red and fucshia coloured one that has buds but not open yet. The perhaps "Victoria" is the new one and I immediately fell in love with it.

Don't know whether you know or not, but I would like to get as much Victoria as possible ... I have my Passiflora (my normal avatar which Sis bought me last year) and I've got some Salvia 'Victoria Blue' seedlings on the go. If this Cyclamen is a Victoria, I'm delighted.

Do you know of any other things I could grow with my namesake?

Too true, plums ... good thinking ... shall I plant one in the neighbour's orchard ??????? Actually, I think it's Victorias that the neighbour has lined up the lane ... been cutting them back this week with the chainsaw to nada. better stay out of the way

Mmmmm, rhubarb, where could I put that .... ???????

I ate the last one today too, wrapped in gold paper. Thank you, but not for the pounds. :D :D

Don't know, Babe. Could put them outside the wall on the lane with the Red Hot Pokers perhaps.
