I’ve just had red spider mite for the first time and bought the predator mites which should be arriving this thurs. Would this lavender spray kill them too?

 Ooh not sure about that @daisybelle.. I think I would just leave it to the predator mites if they are coming on Thursday.. Lavender is very strong to a lot of insects and they don’t like it..

If you are adding preditors it is usually suggested you don't use sprays of any kind for a specific period before introducing the predators.
I've found the predators are usually much easier to kill than the pest.;)

Yeah, I bet that’s the case! The predator doesn’t over winter (course not!) so I’ll try lavender next year. In fact, I could spray the greenhouse with it end of season couldn’t I? :ideaIPB:

For me, the most effective control for most mites incl red spider is water. Keeping the atmosphere damp by spraying is always worth trying before any sprays or nematodes :)

How often? In this recent hot weather, in a greenhouse, a good spray would be bone dry in about 15 mins!

        Hiya Daisybelle :)
As often as possible but for me 2 or 3 times is enough......an evening spray would keep foliage damp all night.
I had peaches in a conservatory a few years back and red spider was rife. I lightly sprayed with water regularly .....no sprays other than water for me on edible crops...and it gave good protection. It needs to be a regime where spraying is done early in the year to pre-empt red spider
