So Im casually reading through threads I missed this weekend, while I was away competing and then I come across this!

I'm wondering how those tower guys got down...... Seems a bit stupid to climb. Should have just base jumped!!

Recklessness of the scientist aside, I found that weirdly very very beautiful. Nature really is quite amazing.

 

Last night I made my wife watch the Youtube clip, causing her to miss the beginning of some documentary on telly she'd been waiting for. About half an hour later, on the documentary, there was the exact same clip

The scientist was a total nutter though eh? I wonder was going through his mind. "Hmm, I've got a good idea, I'll climb up that near vertical wall of loose material, which is the only thing between me and a vast raging pool of molten rock that regularly spills over and can travel at up to 60mph and with absolutely no place to take cover if it looks like its coming straight at me'.

 

I watched the whole thing last night too, very interesting.
