Shocked and saddened to read this thread this afternoon but my mind is flooded with the good times we shared at Shineyland...loved your breakfast company at the B & B Eddy.
A kind gentle man that will forever be in my heart and soul,
Enjoy a new garden with your dearly beloved lady and I will raise a glass to you this evening,
        Jenny

Such sad news to read this afternoon, I will miss his humour, his advice, the pictures of his garden, and the stories of his cats' misadventures, more than I can say.

So sad to hear this news. By condolences go out to his family at this sad time for them.
I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Armandii (Eddy) but I enjoyed reading the debates that went on before, during and after Brexit. I learned so much from them.
His sense of humour shone through in his posts and I would love to have visited his garden, his green house and his observatory and enjoyed a cuppa at the end of a day in garden with him and his cat. He was an inspirational gardener who loved his plants. Rest in peace Armandii - you will be sadly missed.

There are really no words I can find to express how I feel on this sad occasion.
I have just caught up with this thread and tears filled my and Mrs.Roders eyes.
He was one of the most beautiful people I have ever met ,so kind and generous and so genuine.
He had a most incredible way with words ,I suppose that was working with solicitors for many years .
He will join an old friend Becky who was taken last year.
I suspect if we were in normal times his funeral would be greatly attended.
We can only surmise how he suffered in silence as I had no idea how ill he was....
                He is now at peace.
                Bless you Eddie.

This was us May.2016 at Shiney’s.

What a honour and joy it has been to get to virtually know a person like Eddy. His amazing photography, his virtual ambles through his lovely garden and his lively, educated and always courteous discussions have given so much to everyone who has known him, even if only virtually.

I miss you Armandii, or, Eddy. Thank you for making this world a little bit better place, thank you for sharing the photos and the stories, and for taking the time to make this forum an enjoyable place to be.

My sincere condolences to Eddy's near and dear ones.

Being fairly new to GC I didn't know Eddy, but like many others I found his contributions extremely helpful and informative. He was obviously a good, well liked person. I would also like to offer my condolences to his family and friends. The world will be a sadder place without him.

Eddy's family have been in touch with me today and are offering a collection (approx 17 plants) of bearded Iris that Eddy had potted up if any of his GC friends would like them. They would need to be collected from an address in Cheshire - please PM me your contact details if you are interested and I will put you in touch.
