    Sorry for the delay in coming in on the thread........been away. Any reason, al, why a annual plant??? Why not a hardy perennial such as already been suggested like a Clematis? To be honest I don't think you need a"restrained" Clematis and a white Clematis running "riot" through the Willow would look classical and really stunning.

      There is a Clematis that I was going to suggest - C.chiisensis..............
