I understood the "read / read" bit, glenw ... what I wasn't sure about was the LOL as I think I'm LoL! [IMG] Even worse, my Sis calls me LofL which to me sounds like awful!

What a dreadful name to choose!

Pal always calls me Lady .. wherever that lovely lad is! Other people have other names for me ....

Isn't English wonderful? Learning Portuguese made me realise what a cack language English is (and I hate to say I excelled in it ... not that anyone would notice) and I actually wonder how any foreigner can learn the English language, ie, read/read, write/right, lead (to be ahead) /lead (as in the metal) ... you know what I mean?... Chinese or Greek may be preferable!

Lady it will be from now on then! :D

And yes, I know what you mean about the english language, I admire any foreigner who even attempts to learn it! Mind you, I admire anyone who can learn a foreign language, i hated my french and german lessons in the dim distant past at school, but i'll always try to learn a bit of local lingo if i go anywhere on my hols. This year it might be a holiday in cornwall, i've already started trying to learn their lingo!!!! ;)

Oh sorry Strongy, I was elsewhere with my thoughts and didn't mean to hijack your thread. At least I was not the only one.

Anyway, that first plant is really wicked looking, wouldn't care to get into a fight with it!

The second one is definitely a Hawkweed. I cannot find the exact variety in Strongy's pic, but I have it in my garden (stupidly, I liked the leaves). Beware! it self-seeds and spreads like mad.

Thanks B, it may have come from the Chief Planning Officer's garden as he craftily 'donated' a Cordyline Purpurea to the Parks so our chaps had to dig it up and gave it to me to look after in the nursery till it was found a home (now on one of our traffic islands!) The Hawkweed came up in the pot so I assume it may have or the parent may have been in his garden. Still no complete ID for it yet.
