If you are buying walking boots or shoes , which range in price from £18 to £310 . Do make sure they are waterproof. I cannot comprehend UK firms that sell non waterproof walking footwear :gaah: I mean what use is it in our climate , you walk across a wet grassy field and your feet are wet - very wet . Obviously I have bought non waterproof ones in the past :frown:

I find most of the time GO can be more expensive that other places, so if you keep an eye on prices elsewhere, wait until they're at least a fraction cheaper than GO, then use GO's http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/price-guarantee you'll get stuff from them at the very best price

Sometimes I've actually had to wait ages for GO to increase their price just above a competitor's so I can get it 10% cheaper t.han the lower price

They look nice and sturdy WOO :blue thumb: With all this talk I have bought myself a new pair of walking boots. Now I don't do serious hiking or climbing up fells and mountains . So I prefer the lighter waterproof fabric type off boot. I bought some Karrimor ones from Sports Direct .

We've had our Goretex jackets for about 30 years :blue thumb:

Re boots:- both the Scarpa walking shoes and boots got the top marks from Which? magazine this year. Not cheap, though! I have their walking shoes and they cost about £130 - but well worth it as I wear them all the time.

One pair for gardening and rough(ish) walking and one pair for good wear (wear them to weddings and funerals as well, as I have problems with shoes).
