The bulb on ebay appears to be from Evolution Plants. Their website is http://www.evolution-plants.com/uk/
My snowdrops have been flowering for about 4 weeks. Today I noticed the first anemone blanda opening their flowers under the trees.

I planted some Snowdrops last year. You can maybe just about make out the foliage to the right of the hose in the first photo? Pleasing to see how they have bulked up (second photo) after only one year :)

It appears that there isn't a naming agency in the UK, so I guess its just a free-for-all. There is a naming agency in Holland, but no sign that that has caught on over here.

With Daylily has to go through the American hemerocallis society to get one registered , free for all doesn't sound good, I bet people get ripped off big time as I have bought as with others on here a named variety DL and later in the year or two find out it isn't what they sold it as.
I would have to buy in flower with snowdrops , looks like an opportunity for someone to start off in the UK ? dont you think so the one on ebay to be named/registered how can they say that ?

Most Snowdrops are sold in-the-green. They transplant well when in growth (crucial they don't dry out, hence not normally sold as loose bulbs as they would need to be dug up and then sold immediately anyway, plus if sold in-flower you can see what you are getting :)

I have read that really not good to "buy in the green" as they dont make any new roots so any damaged in the process is not good for them but best to buy in July when fully and ripe/dormant but with that not many sell then

I have no luck at all with Snowdrops , they only seem to do one season in my lawn. Today I noticed two Iris Reticulata have flowered , very pretty and the my first flowers of the year :blue thumb:
