Anyone else doing sunflowers this year.

    Its more of a brown BM cant remember the name off hand (maybe Earth Walker ) :confused:

    Top pic is Teddy Bear a minature 2 ft tall and multi headed. Second is Velvet Queen 6-9 ft tall.The one on page 2 is Earth Walker another multiheaded one.More pics soon :cool: :D :D

    They're lovely, I like Teddy Bear, haven't seen that one before. Mine were sown very late this year, only just developing heads.I sowed some more a couple of days ago as I found a seed packet that had been chewed by mice, and thought I might as well bung them in. They've germinated already! :cool:

    Mine are late, bloom in September/October here .. and I'm only on a 17" screen also.

    The birds have presented me with some sunflowers. So I've got to grow them - haven't I? I have been watering my neighbours garden this week. He's got 15 or 20 growing in his hanging baskets. If they are the 20 foot variety, he could have problems :D

    I like that very deep rust red earthwalker of yours.
    This one just came into flower, just one 8" diameter bloom open but there`s 7 more on the plant which should be open before long.

    The giant yellows are still stretching skywards with no real signs of flowering as yet.
    Hopefully they`ll be monsters [​IMG]

    Thats the Teddy Bear this morning.May not be everyones cup of tea but I quite like it ;)

    I think its lovely my sunflowers are now about 6 foot in the back garden and 3 foot in the front..but i dont even have a head on them yet..everything here is late..I love sunflowers and they are usefull as the birds get food from them..

    [​IMG] Like your pics Beefy.. :D Mine are outside & are nowhere near flowering yet, :rolleyes: but as it has been raining steadily all afternoon it is a joy to see those sunny faces.... :cool: Maybe mine will decide to do something after this rain....... :rolleyes: ;)
