According to Steve Wright in today's Factoids on radio 2...The higher the IQ,the more you dream!

:DOf course,I dream all night long.

When I was about ten years old my Granny told me about her Uncle(only three years older than herself) who ,after leave in 1916,went back to Flanders telling her he knew he wouldn't be coming back. He was right,he was KIA in the Somme. Ever since she told me, I dream I'm running along lanes trying to find him and tell him not to go back.....All the time crying my little eyes out and calling'Uncle Jack...Come back'
In an effort to calm my demons I have researched his life and death and hope to visit his memorial at Theipval. BTW,I was give my middle name John in his memory.
Maybe my dream isn't weird, but many weird things have happened soon after having it.

Ooh Ooh....I had a real weird one, when I was very young. In my dream, I was playing in my garden, when I heard this marching sound in my street, which was getting closer and closer. As I looked expecting to see soldiers or something, turns out it was lots and lots of 6ft high cigarette packets marching in formation. Don't sound like much, but scared me to death

Think you can identify it's origin:thumb:I hope you do get to visit Theipval:)

Reminds me of abandonment dreams I had after my sister was born
I remember running after my mum and dad who couldn't see me, continuing to walk away faster than I could run :(

Talking of really weird dreams a recurring one that I had for a while some 3 years ago is of being a man, whole different feeling of balance and physical strength and all the ...uh... well ... all the different plumbing. Really curious. Hell, how does my brain know how to "feel" being a guy? Mind boggling.

I tryed to paint my male self in four different paintings.

Hope it's ok B-M,don't want to highjack the thread mate.

Granny actually told me he was her brother...But she was brought up by his Mum,her Gran of course, because her own mother was single.
Jack is another name for John and it was years before I was told how I was named.
He was too young to enlist but did,he died at the age of 19. I have ID'd the field where his battalion was shelled on the night he died.
I was given a Mouth organ by Granny but I only found out recently it was Jack's and he gave it to Granny to look after for him...I have lost it!
I have his swagger stick, bought by his Mother after he joined up. The Regimental museum in Warwick want it because they haven't got one.

Lots more info found but that's enough...Thank's B-M.

I have really vivid and weird dreams because of my illness. Sometimes I can remember them most times I can't (my memory is bad too lol) but sometimes as I go thro the day doing things the dreams come back to me.

The dream/nightmare that reoccurs is one where I'm really big in a tiny room like Alice in Wonderland. If I get a temp I hallucinate and I've had some funny hallucinations. One was that the houseplants were eating me, another was like i was in some kind of sonic the hedgehog game and the worst one was that a rapist on the loose in Kent was in my hotel room in Ashford Kent and I was attacking him with a chair.

Dreams are very interesting aren't they:eek:

When I was a teenager I used to have a recurring dream that I was trying to escape from
a huge tidal wave and no matter how fast I ran I could almost feel the water splashing on me.

In 1953 my father's wife and three children were drowned in the East Coast Floods.

I have never had that dream again and I often wonder if it was a premonition.
It still feels spooky when I think about it now.

I don't know really. I am fine in my current Smurfette incarnation. :D But it's a STRANGE dream. I just wonder how the brain can "simulate" (?) such sensations. I havetheories. But Those I will keep to myself, me thinks ;)
