One of my recurring childhood dreams was that I'm trying to cross the road but simply cannot get to the other side. My feet feel really heavy and I'm almost clinging on to the kerb on the other side of the road but can't quite haul myself off the road. It is always pitch dark and there are car-headlights in the distance coming towards me...getting bigger and bigger.
To this day, I hate crossing roads in the dark. That dream comes back in my mind instantly.

Another recurring dream that I do sometimes have even now is that a war or civil war has broken out...in my dream I'm always in Kenya in our apartment and I can hear gun shots so I'm hiding behind the wall of the rooms but can see out of the window where a helicopter has been hit and is crashing down to the ground....and it is pretty close and I can see all the bits of metal flying off it.

(I'm not keen on helicopters and certainly would not want a ride in one)

I used to have the dreams where my teeth were falling out too.

I sometimes have a dream / feeling as if someone is sitting on top on me and holding me down and I have to work really hard to tell myself that it si a dream and then shake myself awake. I alwasy know it is a dream when I'm dreaming this yet it makes me feel as though there is someone in my room who should not be there.

sometimes I think my mind works overtime and I can't stop the thoughts running away.....specially after I was diagnosed with an illness, I went thru many many nights having really black thoughts....I got thru that with faith and trust but I still have what I call 'black days and nights' and I can't stop my mind from going where I do not wish it to go.

Oh wow, what interesting dreams we have. I had the same nightmare a couple of times when I was young and every time after having it, I was ill - bronchitis, suspected apendicitis etc. Weird.

Inter - that one about someone on top of you is meant to be a bad presence isn't it. Don't mean to worry you but I'm sure I've heard of that before.

The teeth falling out is a common dream but I can't remember what it means just now.

I, apparently, do lots of shouting, singing:eek: and talking whilst I'm asleep. Of course I don't know this but my parents told me I was like an octopus when I was younger:D and hubby says I often elbow him in the eye or wake him with my shouting etc:o

So who will tell us the meaning of these dreams? Surely someone on here knows.

    cheers

    From my memory

Teeth falling out is to do with one of two things

The first and most likely is unexpressed anxiety. You are not talking about something that is causing you anxiety. You want to share it with someone and you are holding back from talking about it because you don't feel you can share it with the person you want/need to share it with.

The other reason is 'loss of face' either physically - in that you are concerned about getting or looking older (this apparently is common in menopausal women) or emotionally - you feel you are 'losing face' in some situation.

don't know if that's any help to those of you with these dreams - being menopausal myself I am admitting nothing ;)

Dreamed I was playing tennis against Madonna... but 80's Madge, not the current one. She was wearing a long, black trenchcoat kinda thing. She was playing really badly and cheating so I had to tell her off... Bizarre.

Ok, I did last night. I was inside a building, digging up a portion of a brick floor in a basement and uncovered a man who had a swollen belly, then the belly grew and bop out came something. But before I saw the something, I ran out of the house to hid in my car. Then I saw other cars arrived and people talking about finding her (I guess it was me). Then the people went in side the house. I started my car and quietly got away.

You wouldn`t have liked my garden today then, 4 turned up and sat on the oak trees watching the garden-I don`t know if they woulod try anything but I had my kitten out with me-although she is a lot bigger now. It was deathly quiet except for the crowing of them as they one by one turned up. Didn`t scare me though, but I agree they do have presence.

Anyway back to dreams-I had one about a camel and it was trying to speak to me but I didn`t understand the language. It didn`t do anything bad to me but I was glad when I woke up.

That is one bizarre dream Red a pregnant man.

Last night I dreamt my fiance (yes, a man!) had volunteered to have a friend's baby when they weren't able to have any. I was present at the birth (no, no idea!), it all went very smoothly and he passed the baby over to me and went to find his friend to pass on the good news! Woke up very confused!

I guess most of us only dream when we are troubled. I know that I certainly dream a lot when I'm troubled and my mind works overtime to make some sense of it all.

I used to dream that I could fly down stairs and up stairs when i was a child. I still wish I could fly.......can you imagine the feeling of freedom.:yez:
