That looks fantastic! Well done you!!

I have the same problem with my hubby. He says, no rush to get it done today, it will be done soon - and he's right, because I get it done whilst he is at work!!

You have done really well to revitalise that concrete pond. As @ARMANDII says, some of us make do with containers (the layout of the garden does not really lend itself to an in-the-ground pond), so we are already a little envious of you!! Looking forward to seeing it finished, with fishes and plants as well...

      :wow:

Thank you Radiation91...and for all your help :). The liner was so big I couldn't believe the size.... I'm sure the supplier sent me the wrong one... But hey-ho I'm not complaining.

I lay it out on the grass and made two sausage rolls to the center if that makes sense and managed to position (more like drag) it across the center and just rolled the sides out as Mr AB arrived home, he just put the hose into the center and told me the pressure of the water would help to get it into place... And it did with a little help from my feet :heehee: and yes no chipped polish just cold feet :roflol:

I think the slabs need moving over the edge of the pond more now to hide and protect the liner so hopefully the repositioning of them will be finished in a couple of days :)

What size did they send you? If it was doubled up then I guess is was 40ft in one direction :heehee: Did you ask for 20 feet long or 20 meters long? :loll:

It sounds like you had a good technique for laying the liner anyway! I can imagine how cold your feet were. I've just been wrist-deep in bird bath water and it was freezing. Knee deep would have been pretty bad  To clarify, by wrist deep I mean from my fingers to wrist, not from my ankles right up to my wrists ;)

You've basically finished the pond now! The majority of the work is done. And the best bit is that it's got a concrete base. On problem you can have with liners is moles/rats burrowing and chewing through the liner but if there's concrete underneath it then you've got some added protection!

@Radiation91, I asked the company to work it out for me and told them it was 14 x 14 foot square x about 2.5 foot deep but I would like a good lip so asked if they would take that into consideration. When it came it was just folded into a bag with a delivery note..... And little brochure which I think Mr AB has hidden....

Little does he know .... there was one in the underlay bag :heehee: so I've just finished cutting the grass and dead heading and browsing through it on a coffee and chocolate biscuit break :) mmmm

Not quite finished yet...... Still another job to do yet :)

@Apple Blossom maybe they class 10ft as "a good lip"? :heehee: You're probably right about them sending you the wrong one.

Coffee and dark chocolate? ooft I'm suddenly hungry again

Having seen your beautiful water area I will probably ask you for some help and advice in time with water plants if that would be ok? There are so many to choose from. I think what I need to do is sit on my chair and try to visualise what I want height and spread and go from there :)

                    Hi Apple Blossom,

Well done, you've done a really good job there :)

Hi Anthony.... Ahhh thank you, ...maybe you should make a small water feature for the garden... when I was at the Water World there were so many, different shapes and sizes for every garden it really inspired me to maybe have a small one in another area of the garden :heehee:

P.S I haven't forgotten about your plant, the post office had sold out of jiffy bags, I'm on a course tomorrow and work on Wed so hopefully I can get it out to you Thursday :)

Well at the moment we're looking round for something that we can do and perhaps have it more geared up towards birds as we have quite a few visitors.

Don't worry about it, whenever's most convenient for you, just let me know when it's on it's way :)

I bet what ever you do will look just great and something for birds will no doubt bring lots of excitement to your garden.

We have a very large mulberry tree which has been in abundance of fruit, the birds just feast on them so funny watching them... as there are so many, they eat and eat and I'm sure they eat that much they can't fly for a while as they just sit in the grass having a nap, luckily Tess just leaves them alone and on many occasions she is in the middle of them having a nap herself :doggieshmooze:

                          Can you believe it.........

On Tuesday we ordered sand, gravel and cement to be delivered on Friday ready for the weekend to get the flag stones fitted around the pond...

Now you would think with such an early order things would go well?

Due to where we live, I have to admit, it is hard to find.... so we told the supplier not to go by the post code as it takes you half a mile further away... so with full instructions of how to get to the house etc. etc. and a phone number to call as no one would be at the property you would think nothing could go wrong...

When I got home at 4pm no delivery so I called Mr AB who then rang the supplier....and was told the delivery has been completed..... where??.... a farm?? what farm? where on our address does it say farm?? why didn't you call?? We did! No you didn't I was waiting for a call just in case you got lost! What number do you have? Woops its been written down wrong!! who signed for the delivery? nobody :yikes: !! OK mistakes happen can you re-deliver Sat morning? No fully booked!! But this is your mistake!! Can't fit you in .... too many bookings will have to be Monday now :yikes: We can't let our other customers down :yikes:!!! Can you give me the address of where you dropped off the materials??, No the driver has gone home :gaah:

Can you imagine the poor person who came home on Friday to find a huge bag of sand, gravel and cement on their property without a clue of who delivered it and who it belongs to!

Goodness knows where they have delivered and what is more annoying is that the weather today was perfect and the forecast for the next few days is rain!!

So much for customer service.... I would tell you the name of this well know company but not sure if it is allowed
