Just thought I'd let everyone know I have PM orchid man about the use of such pictures.
He has read the message but not replied as yet, if I dont get a reply it maybe a good idea to remove his pictures from the comp. there is still a few days yet until the voting.

Waco, that Voodoo lily thats just showing leaf, did you have that in the house when it flowered?
I'm not allowed to grow then in the house because of the stink they make. I 've got one in the greenhouse just about to flower. :D

Pete it is not a voodoo lily ( I do have one but it is in the shed) This one is arisaema Speciosum, voodoo is Sauromatum Venosum - or so I believe. OK so I can remember names when really pushed. and yes it is in the house I will tell you how it smells later. It is going in with my new ferns when it gets going.

It is Arisaema consanguinium I am really waiting for.

I do love my bulbs, and have a great tame dutch man who encourages me to part with copious quantities of money!

Still smelling sweet as a nut, the picture does not do it justice, dark things very difficult to photo.

[IMG] Well have done alittle research since yesterday & mine is not a Voodoo Lily. Although that is what they were sold as, but I have found out today that some poeople refer to them as that. I have taken a couple of pics as I think it warrents it. It is a Dragon Arum or Dracunculus vulgaris...!! It also is going to stink apperently... ;)

Waco, when I saw that spotted leaf stalk I though it was what I have as voodoo lily, Sauromatum Guttatum, not sure if thats the same as venosum. But I see now its different.
MF, I have heard dracunculus refered to as voodoo lily as well, you just cant trust these common names.
I'll post a pic when mine opens, could be tomorrow.

This is a pic I took last summer at Kew.

Really like that tree devouring that sign Liz, someone is going to get a shock if that tree ever gets cut for timber one day.
I've seen them "eat" metal railings and fencing but never a sign, :D

The picture I wanted to ented was one of my podophyllium - err poda - whatsit feet fetish plant imerging, the red rose flowers on the bare soil are spectacular, but no flowers comming up just LOADS of leaves, so today I have potted up loads of little ploants.

I am just hoping it has got too overcrowded and will flower if split up.
