It is a shame what happened to Baby P. poor lad.[/quote]

Poor Lad? Don`t be so patronising.Social services visited this child 60 times, the police asked social services to take the babe into care. They said they had no reason to. The poor thing died, one of the more severe injuries was a broken back.

Yes Poor Lad. (thats not patroonising)???

Sounds like the police needed to be more aggressive, if they believed the child was in danger then go for it. When I find an issue in the hospital and if the department head does not get it fixed then I go to the CEO. Something as important as a child life, in my mind all gloves are off, I would not care who's toes I stepped on.

Our police are only aggressive with motorists these days, they dont tend to fight back much and just pay up.

Anyone committing an offence other than that could well be dangerous and are best avoided.:hehe:

And yes David, "poor lad" is not patronising, is it?

Actually, Red IT IS patronising. It`s not poor lad, it`s dead baby. And don`t you forget it.

I will agree that we have disagreed on the word patronising.
But that is not the real issue here is it now. That is not the place to put our energies is it now.

How about I don't wish to put energy into the discussion of the use of the word patronising when it is evident that we would be in a circle of disagreement but rather into the issue at hand.

And with that David, I am closing down this lap top and heading home. Have a good night David.

Very true. But I'm keeping quiet about what I think of our "wonderful" police service in this country.

"How have I blamed the breed? I`ve not even blamed the dogs, just the grandmother."

I was agreeing with you on the grandmother and dissagreeing with others who had criticised the breed.

If I was directing my comment at you then id have quoted you.

    What`s with everyone being touchy??

I like a row better than anyone but I don`t take it personal because none of you ( except a few) know me personally.

Blame the weather (gets blamed for everything else:hehe:)

"Discussions" online can so easily be misconstrued. If you have a similar conversation face to face with someone or several people it gets resolved a lot quicker and usually doesn't get so acrimonious. Body language and interrupting (or sometimes just not listening properly) play a big part too. Whereas online, you have a chance to read the comment, get annoyed, have a good think about it, get more annoyed and post in retaliation.

Us humans need face to face contact. Online forums are a poor substitute (although a great place to get advice when you need it, quickly:thumb:)

I think everyone on here is a nice person, don`t particularly dislike anyone-because I don`t know them.

Yes there are things said that I don`t disagree with and have been known to exclaim "cheeky bu88er" at times, but then the self same person then goes on to chat away with me quite pleasantly about anything and everything and then I realise the problem is with me.

If we were all sat in a pub having a beer on a summers afternoon I rather suspect we would all get along quite nicely.

    Nevermind eh?

We all stoop down to look at something pretty and that is what we all have in common.
