borrowers, if it`s grape hyacinth/muscari/liriope or lilyturf, you do realise it will take over your garden? Better hope it`s the native Bluebell. [IMG] :D

Think the plain old Bluebell will do for me, also known as .............. :D

How long before they flower do you reckon? Mind with this weather, will they last? Can't wait now.

Dee, I`ve answered your fruit tree question, and I`ve been on holiday for a couple of days, and borrowers , they can escape from the pots. And the proper name for Bluebells is Endymion or scilla. The one you DON`T want is Endymion hispanicus, the Spanish Bluebell. This is doing to the native Bluebell ( E. non-scriptus ) what the Grey Squirrel did to the native Red Squirrel. :D :D :D [IMG]

How i am ever supposed to remember all that? I'm going to come on tomorrow & write some of these things down.

I'm off to bed now (well am in bed) but light off time & story cd on. Hopefully sleep through till 6-7 tomorrow. Bliss.

We should have a night, night thread on here instead of people just disappearing. Maybe it could go on with the Yawn, yawn thread.

    So goodnight for now.

    cheers

The trouble with being a horticulturist Dee, IS talking about plants by their Latin names. Amateur gardeners tend to think you are just showing off, but all plants have several common names which is confusing. If you use the Latin name though it is recognized all around the world. PS, I`ve also got the hand writing of a doctor, even I can`t decipher it sometimes. [IMG]

I dont think your showing off David, I think its great that you can remember both the Latin name and common names of plants.. [IMG]

David, I used to leave myself written memos but gave up when I had to admit that after a week, if I didn't remember what they said, I couldn't decipher my own handwriting. I now leave them on the computer. (But I don't type too good either). :D
