Awwww:D It was only because the fishing trip had been cancelled due to a force 10.

Last time I put this pic up Daisees said "Who is that and what is he doing??"

I replied, "Thats one of your new moderators" She's not worked out if its me or Armandii yet though:D

Ziggy, is that a water feature in the pic? It looks quite interesting.

It is Dave. My rill that I made with concrete slabs & bitumen tanking, had a few levels & a waterfall pump thinger. It was refreshed by rainwater from the shed downpipe & I grew bogbean in it & had 2 fish called Eric in there.

I like it, and it immediately jumped out at me because I'm building more patio soon, this time with a straight edge. I've been struggling to think how I can end the patio and start the lawn without it looking somehow wrong, your water feature idea might be a winner.

It was inspired by a feature I saw in May 1970, in Israel. Think it was the path to The Library of the Book, the museum where they exhibit the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Very intense heat and a long stepped path of broad concrete steps, it had a little rill, partly covered or edged with concrete slabs, running down the centre of the path up the hill. Seem to remember lizzards along it.

At our last house in Sheffield, we had a friendly hedgehog that lived in the garden. It used to come and enjoy a saucer of water we'd take out while we were having a drink on the patio. He learnt that we were no threat to him and would sup his water right by our feet as we supped wine, then in his own time he'd amble away to sort out the slugs and snails for us.

                He was called Steven.
