Sorry, ziggy, but the first thing I thought of when I saw that picture was a Roman toilet system :heehee:

A bit more seriously, clueless, that system won't work if you want it to divide patio and lawn. The grass cuttings will get into it. :(

I'm not crazy :rolleyespink:. Being a member of this forum allows me to talk about gardening. We don't actually have a garden - as all the photos I put up are from the local park. :WINK1: :heehee:

You need a Ha Ha Dave, that'll keep the sheep off the patio during barbeques. Speaking of sheep, walked down the plot just before dusk to the sound of walking stick cabbage leaves being loudly munched. There was a standoff as the sheep guiltly stopped chewing & just stared at me.

I find it very therapeutic. I have a stressful job which involves a lot of thinking, so just to be in the garden is very relaxing.

It absorbs my concentration so that I forget about the work stuff which occupies my mind a lot of the time and allows me to 'connect' with the beauty of nature and to marvel at how plants live and breathe and grow, to the point where they 'tell' you if they are unhappy. I get great satisfaction out of the simplest things in the garden, like seeing new shoots or flowers, don't get that anywhere else.

God I do sound bonkers :rolleyespink::loll:

I'm with you Merleworld. i get huge satisfaction and not a little pleasure from seeing plants come into growth every year without any assistance from me. The green leaves of spring and the first bulbs of the new yaer are probably my favourite things.
Making new plants from cuttings and seed is quite amazing really - mad, no ..........just a happy gardener.

I'm with you too merleworld. My job involves a lot of numbers, and I never envisaged that I would be working in finance a few years back. Gardening gives me that release. I guess I'm pretty imaginative and my mind wanders a lot. No matter which way it wanders my garden is always there to satisfy my curiousity. From someone who does a lot of drawing, and painting gardening is a great inspiration.

I like having the ability to create living art :heehee: (so to speak)....That's how it feels to me........ also it's like a big science experiment....

.....Most of all gardening reminds me of my childhood, and the long hot days we would spend as a family in the garden and/or the allotment. Those are the memories you never forget, and the ones you carry forward into your own lives. When I'm gardening I feel the same excitement and enthusiasm I did back then.
