being done is totally subjective to what you decide to put into "your" agenda for Christmas.
There is no Christmas Police who will knock at your door with a list to see if you completed all. All of what???

Yep, my Christmas cards were done 5 years ago, when I decided not to send anymore. and the earth stood still.
So now, I have to think about a Christmas dinner for two. Yes would like something a little special. But three days before, I think I will roam a high end grocery store and just grab some interesting items and be done with it. Neither husband or I need anything. I asked him for bright yellow ear protectors and bright yellow eye protectors to match the new bright yellow riding mower. Really don't need anything.

If you have a smartphone on a contract that gives you a half decent data allowance, you won't need a TomTom. I find Google Navigation to be a more than capable satnav system, and the maps and traffic information are always up to date because they're downloaded as background data.

I have found the TomTom traffic services to be very good so far. It does get it a bit wrong sometimes, but generally pretty good. I am currently using a stupid windows phone, which I would like to change for Android again very soon (500mb data allowance....more than ample).
My Google Samsung was pretty good too for traffic info admittedly. Its been a long time since I used one last though, so can't compare. I do know that the SatNav companies nearly priced themselves out of the market recently with their expensive map, camera, and traffic updates etc.
I don't think they had much choice but to offer them as lifetime now.

Noooooo, not panicking but kicking into high gear.

I always get my grandchildren books for their birthdays and Christmas and include a piece of currency for a bookmark. I'm expecting the books to be delivered by thursday which gives me plenty of time to wrap them. All 9 of them.. The adults only get booze.

Still got to send out the cards for myself and on behalf of my friend in the home.

Got 3 kinds of cookies baked and the dough ready to bake for another 4 types. Got the gift trays for these goodies.

Still got to make the candy, one more batch of wine jelly for gifts. Still got to decorate inside. I'll get the turkey etc a few days before. Then I believe my son and I will be making a 9 hour drive on boxing day to go see my oldest granddaughter.

@clueless1, here's what not to get your wife. A hoover. My EX got me one for Christmas years ago. You did notice the EX part of that advice? :heehee:

Ah!!! But there's the Secret Santa Police that check that your chimney is clean enough for Santa. Otherwise he doesn't come and deliver your presents.

I'm in panic mode here!

So far 3 trees decorated! (3 I hear you say, I have my niece coming for Christmas & we've not had a tree since we lost my Nan 4 christmas's ago).

Beer bought but it's not what my brothers like so I need to buy more!

Some cheese in the fridge....some cheese in my tummy! :heehee:

Some prosecco in my tummy! Must replace this too! :blue thumb:

Christmas cake made but not iced!

                    Turkey ordered.

                    Panto booked for next weekend

                    2 gift vouchers purchased!

We normally go on holiday at Christmas but you know the saga! To be honest I'm so out of touch with all the whole Christmas organising I'm finding it a real chore.

Tomorrow hubby & I are going shopping! Lord help me in all the hussle & bussle! :gaah:

It was very quiet in Northampton today. Not even much traffic about :blue thumb:.
Saying that, there was a huge queue to be served in one of the cheapy shops. It went the whole depth (very deep), and then width of the shop. There is no way I would ever wait in a queue that long.

                                Start a new "tradition".

Not many years ago I realized I had pub buddies or other casual acquaintances who hated the traditional group of holiday makers because their group had unfortunately dissappeared. So I started inviting loners over or encouraging them to band with other people who had the same set of civilities. Guys can have pot lucks too.

Sometimes there is more booze than desserts at these but there is plenty of cheer.

I hope you and others can band together and change the spirit of the day.

my friend, who had the stroke last year and is now in a care facility, used to spend Christmas with us because he had no wife or family here. I did not "do"my normal dinner last year. He isn't dead but I still mourned the loss of his lifestyle. Going to spend Christmas morning with him listening to his tradtional Handel's Messiah (pass the no-dose please) and then carry on from there. I also losttboth of my brothers and think of them on these occasions and the passage of time has allowed me to remember their fun copany rather than my feeling of loss.

Use the herding instinct, please! Lots would jump at the opportunity.
