          Well, it is interesting times to be sure.:dunno::snorky: The EU's Martin Schultz, Donald Tusk, Jean Claude Juncker, and some of their cohorts are presently making the usual aggressive and aggrieved comments about BREXIT and their demands for a leaving payment by the UK to EU, and hard line comments of a "take it or leave it" BREXIT deal. The ironic thing is that Theresa May has been severely criticised by the EU and some UK Politicians for saying from the start that "no deal is better than a bad deal" and wanting a Hard BREXIT. To be honest I never thought that she wanted or wants a Hard exit from the EU. I think that she was playing her cards intelligently and presenting a UK Government that, from the start, wasn't going to be intimidated, bullied or coerced by the EU as an example of what happens to other members possibly wanting to leave.

          That approach is being justified by Juncker so that other EU members will not want to leave the EU. That sort of approach is going be a case of............
          upload_2017-3-20_20-36-54.png
          as it is basically a recognition by the EU that other members are not happy with their own situation within the EU. Trying to keep members of any organisation from leaving that organisation by enforcing leaving penalties and threats of harsh treatment is not the best image for that organisation especially with the whole world looking on.
          The Mediterranean country members are probably those at the top of the list of those members who have and are considering their options regarding leaving the EU and. probably, the only thing that has stopped them is the financial pressure of their national debts to the EU who have already reminded Greece and Italy of the consequences they would deliberately impose on leaving the EU and the Euro.
          France is still in the throes of Nationalism, Austria is in a internal political struggle over the immigration crisis, Sweden is being pressured by politicians to renegotiate it's agreements with the EU and there are other members who want a different deal and direction to be laid out.
          Yes, we're in interesting times.:coffee::snorky:

            Apparently, we can walk away from the EU with a REPAYMENT of up to £6 billion. We certainly don`t want to stay in the single market.

              Well, dai, some top EU Bureaucrats are quoting figures of around £18 Billion as a penalty to pay for the EU's unpaid bills and pension liabilities.:coffee::snorky: If you've got a sad eyed dog, dai, you and I could stand on the street corner while people pay me not to sing or play my banjo so we can pay the EU what they deserve.:dunno:

                As well they may (spout!). However, the UK cannot be held to ransom for the whole of the EU's unpaid bills/pension liabilities. The devil is in the detail: "penalty". Penalty is not the same as accountability and therein lies the crux of the negotiations: word games! Irrespective of where my political allegiance may or may not lie, I am developing a strong regard for how TM is coping with the mantel thrust upon her. Although not a strident Thatcher style conservative, she does appear (on face value) to be a woman of soft spoken, yet resolute, determination. Not someone to be underestimated in my book.

                I may be wrong, only time will truly tell; but, at this point in time, I'm feeling rather relieved that she is at the helm (considering the alternatives! *shudders* ). Go get 'em TM!

                    Junker originally said it would be 56 billion. :hate-shocked:

                    Not to worry :dbgrtmb:

                    The Bank of Shineyland has got it all arranged. We don't recognise the Euro but we promise to pay the appropriate amount in Trump Dollars. We already have fourteen of these packed and ready to go.

                          That's a bit mean. Just because we're divorcing Europe doesn't mean we have to poison it too.
