attempting carrots this year

    That reminds me of when I once grew some Cauli's. Very nice, I thought as I munched away, but then the wife noticed some unwelcome inhabitants!:eeew:

    I mix some multi purpose compost with some sharp sand about 50:50. The carrots do better with good drainage in containers, and straight multi purpose compost will hold too much water.

      I once had a lettuce and salad cream sarny. I was just about to bite into it when I say two beady eyes appear on stalks, and a tiny slug popped out to say hello.
